Surprise Taylor Swift Inspired Wedding

This surprise Taylor Swift inspired wedding is going to be a doozy! I have so much to say, and simultaneously no words. This wedding is so near and dear to my heart for a couple of reasons, so let’s start from the beginning.

Kristina and I met YEARS ago. She owned a little purple cupcake shop while I worked as a manager at the pink glittery boutique down the street. Alex, the owner of that boutique, had been friends with Kristina for years. When Alex and I became friends, she introduced me to Kristina, along with a few others girls. It didn’t take long for us to create a friendship circle of 5, and have a forever group chat called GURLZ. Kristina has been a huge supporter and cheerleader of my business (and anything else I want to do) since the very beginning. She has unknowingly been an inspiration to me to this day. So, when Kristina told me she wanted me to photograph her wedding, it was an honor and a privilege and one that I will never forget.

The Wedding Day

Here’s where it gets fun! Jordan proposed to Kristina the day before they moved across the country together. Due to Jordan’s military career, and their two adorable pups, it would be hard for Kristina to travel back and forth for wedding planning. So, she wanted to be as hands off as possible when it came to planning/design and I knew JUST the person for the job!

Queue Christina, from Christina Moore Events. She specializes in surprise design and she’s a literal magician. Meaning, you have almost NO idea what to expect on the wedding day, you leave everything in her hands and just show up to the magic! When you put your trust in her, she takes an overall vibe and pulls out exactly what you have in your head, and makes it 10x better. Christina interviewed K+J on all of their favorite things, and what they wanted to see most out of the wedding day. With a whimsical, wild flower, Taylor Swift themed fairy tale in mind, Christina went above and beyond to make it happen.

The day of the wedding, the rain gods weren’t on our side, and it steadily poured all day long. For any bride, this can put a damper on the day. But, when I walked into the bridal suite, Kristina was all smiles. She told me “Today, we’re romanticizing the rain. I’m putting my feet in the grass, and we can even jump in puddles! If Taylor Swift can perform for 3 hours in a storm, we can do this!” So, we shifted gears. We set up the ceremony under a gorgeous clear tent, surprised Kristina with a string quartet, and the two of them said “I Do” while the rain came down and their favorite people watched on.

Guess what! We lucked out! Right as we were scheduled to start portraits, the rain subsided. Kristina could take her shoes off, put her toes in the dirt, and frolic through the field! The universe even gifted them with a rainbow!

Then these two shared an emotional candle lit first dance, with all of their guests surrounding them. And the emotions kept flowing through the father/daughter and mother/son dances! They then celebrated the night away under disco balls and florals dripping (literally) from the ceiling, They ate ice cream cookie sandwiches from Captain Cookie, and were showered with smoke bubbles during Taylor’s song, Lavender Haze. The party was non-stop all the way up until the surprise cold sparkler exit, while they scream sang Love Story and sprayed all of their guests with bottles of champagne. (Which is my new FAVORITE exit by the way!)

I had tears in my eyes throughout the night. Watching these two, along with all of my friends, celebrate each other, was something that I will cherish forever. I am eternally grateful to Kristina and Jordan for trusting me to capture these memories. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Bridgers – Here’s to a lifetime of the love and happiness you deserve!
