This charming Colonial Williamsburg wedding was full of unique details, tons of class, and some killer dance moves! Robyn and Reid are pretty much the coolest couple I’ve ever met – and little did I know, they’d get even cooler on their wedding day! Rolling up to their Williamsburg Inn venue, I was stunned at the beauty the building provided. It was completely decorated for Christmas, with giant Christmas trees lining the balcony, and gorgeous garland all around! The best part was when they kicked on their Christmas lights at night – HOLY COW, talk about a fairy tale!
Once I made my way through the maze of the building, I found Robyn hanging out with her best friends! They were all kinds of giggles and chatter as they got ready for the big day. Robyn had gathered some adorable details to start the day off, and I had so much fun playing with them! Once it was time to get Robyn in her dress, all of her girls got ready and surrounded her in a sea of beautiful burgundy! Robyn’s beaded Justin Alexander dress from Ellie’s Bridal ( one of my favorite boutiques! ) was a definite show stopper – and to top it off, she had a fluffy fur shawl to match!
While Robyn put the finishing touches to her look, Reid was patiently waiting by the pond to see her for the very first time. She made her way down, and gently tapped his shoulder to give the OK to turn around. He was STUNNED! They shared a moment together, just the two of them – hugging and carrying on about the morning’s festivities. This was the perfect opportunity for them to just relax and be together before the hustle and bustle really started!
Once the family pictures and wedding party photos were finished, Robyn and Reid stepped away to enjoy a few more quiet moments together before the ceremony. These two decided to brave the cold weather to share their vows underneath the beautiful pergola outside, and boy am I glad they did! They kept their vows short and sweet and shared their first kiss as husband and wife surrounded by all of their closest friends and family. (Getting red lipstick ALL over poor Reid’s face! But it was a wonderfully hilarious moment for all of us!)
Now, even MORE fun begins! Because these two shared a “First Look” together, we took only a few more pictures after the ceremony and then they were free to join their favorite people during cocktail hour! Once cocktail hour came to a close, a trio of Fife and Drummers came to escort the guests to the reception space (talk about unique!) There is nothing I love more than a unique guest experience and this was definitely no exception! They kept the experiences flowing as they literally waltzed into their first dance! (Okay, I’m not entirely sure it was a waltz, but it was choreographed nonetheless) I had NO idea they could dance like that! And that wasn’t the last time either – these two killed it on the dance floor ALL NIGHT LONG! Which was SO easy to do, considering the amazing live band they had! And once the party came to a close, Robyn and Reid shared one last dance before running through a tunnel of love, with all of their family and friends by their side!
